"LORD my God, I cried to You for help, and You healed me.”

(Psalm 30:2)

Life’s struggles, especially those faced in recovery, can bring us to moments of desperation. We may feel like we’ve hit rock bottom, with no one else to turn to. But it’s in these moments of vulnerability that the psalmist’s words resonate: “LORD my God, I cried to You for help, and You healed me.”

This verse is a powerful reminder that God hears our cries and responds with healing. He is not distant or indifferent; He is compassionate and present. Crying out to God is not a sign of weakness—it’s an act of faith. It acknowledges that we cannot heal ourselves, but He can.

God’s healing is holistic. It touches not only our physical bodies but also our emotional wounds, mental struggles, and spiritual brokenness. As we continue to seek Him, He brings restoration in His perfect timing and way, often in ways we couldn’t have imagined.

What burdens are you carrying that you need to cry out to God for help with? How have you experienced His healing in your recovery journey so far?

LORD my God, I cry out to You today, knowing that You are the source of all healing. I bring my pain, struggles, and brokenness to You, trusting in Your power to restore me. Thank You for hearing my cries and for the healing You have already begun in my life. Strengthen my faith as I continue to walk this journey with You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

" Behold, I will bring to it health and healing, and I will heal them; and I will reveal to them an abundance of peace and truth.”

(Jeremiah 33:6)

What broken areas of your life do you long for God to heal?

Our journey of recovery often begins with an awareness of our brokenness. Whether it’s addiction, pain, or strained relationships, these fractures can leave us feeling hopeless and beyond repair. Yet, Jeremiah reminds us of God’s incredible promise: He is a God who heals, restores, and brings abundance.

This verse speaks of God’s power to bring not just physical healing but also spiritual and emotional wholeness. He promises health, peace, and truth to those who seek Him. In recovery, we often learn that healing is not merely about the absence of brokenness—it’s about the fullness of life that God offers when we trust in Him in spite of our present circumstances.

God’s healing is a process. It may not come as quickly as we desire, but He works in every moment to bring about restoration. Along the way, He reveals His peace and truth, guiding us to a deeper understanding of His love and purpose for our lives.

What areas of your life do you need to surrender to God for healing? How has His truth brought peace to your recovery journey so far?

Loving Father, thank You for Your promise to heal and restore. I surrender my brokenness to You, trusting that You will bring health to my body, mind, and spirit. Reveal Your truth to me and fill my heart with peace as I walk this path of recovery. Thank You for Your unfailing love and the abundance You offer. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

"Be kind to one another, compassionate, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.”

(Ephesians 4:32)

Who do you need to forgive—yourself, someone else, or maybe both?

Forgiveness is one of the most challenging and essential aspects of life, especially for those of us who have struggled with addiction. The pain of the past, whether caused by others or by our own actions, can be a heavy burden to carry. Often, we hold onto resentment or guilt, thinking it will somehow protect us from being hurt again. Yet, this only keeps us chained to the very wounds we long to heal from.

Ephesians 4:32 calls us to a higher standard: kindness, compassion, and forgiveness. Why? Because God, through Christ, has forgiven us. His forgiveness is not conditional or partial; it is complete and unconditional. When we embrace this truth, we are empowered to extend the same grace to others and to ourselves.

Forgiveness doesn’t mean forgetting the pain or excusing harmful behavior. Instead, it’s a choice to release the burden of bitterness and trust God to handle what we cannot. Forgiving doesn’t change the past, but it frees us to live in peace today and hope for tomorrow.

Who in your life have you struggled to forgive? How has holding onto resentment or guilt affected your recovery? What steps can you take today to embrace the forgiveness God has shown you and extend it to others?

Gracious Father, thank You for forgiving me through Jesus Christ. Help me to show the same kindness and compassion to others that You have shown to me. Teach me to release bitterness and resentment, trusting in Your justice and love. Give me the strength to forgive myself and others as I walk in the freedom of Your grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
