"Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

(Romans 15:13)

Life is a journey often marked by highs and lows, victories and setbacks. In those challenging moments, we may wonder if joy, peace, and hope are even possible. But Paul’s words remind us of a vital truth: our hope doesn’t depend on our circumstances—it comes from God Himself.

The God of hope doesn’t offer a fleeting, shallow optimism. His hope is deep, enduring, and life-giving. Through belief in Him, our hearts can be filled with joy and peace, even when the journey feels difficult. This filling is not something we muster on our own; it comes from the power of the Holy Spirit working within us. As we trust in God, hope begins to overflow, spilling into every area of our lives and into the lives of those around us.

Imagine what it would look like for hope to abound in your life. How would it transform your perspective, your relationships, and your recovery? Trusting in the God of hope allows us to experience the fullness of His joy and peace, even in the midst of trials.

In what ways has God filled you with hope during your recovery? How can you rely on the Holy Spirit to deepen your trust and expand your joy and peace?

God of hope, thank You for the joy and peace You give as I trust in You. Fill me with Your Spirit so that hope in You overflows in my life, touching every struggle and every victory. Help me to trust You more deeply and to share this hope with others as I walk forward in humble contemplation of your love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

"Looking at them, Jesus said, 'With people it is impossible, but not with God; for all things are possible with God.’”

(Mark 10:27)

Overcoming our past failures while looking ahead often feels like an impossible mountain to climb. Whether it’s breaking free from addiction, healing relationships, or overcoming years of pain and regret, the road ahead can seem overwhelming. We may try to rely on our strength, only to fall short time and time again. It’s easy to believe the lie that lasting change is out of reach.

But Jesus reminds us of a powerful truth: What is impossible for us is possible with God. The very struggles that seem insurmountable are the ones where God’s power shines brightest. When we acknowledge our inability and place our trust in Him, He begins to work in ways we never imagined. God can transform our hearts, renew our minds, and restore what was once broken.

Consider the times when you’ve felt defeated or hopeless. How might those moments have changed if you fully trusted in God’s ability to do the impossible? Our new lives require faith—not in our own strength but in the One who can make a way when there seems to be no way.

What area of your life feels impossible right now? How can you surrender it to God, trusting that He will accomplish what you cannot?

Heavenly Father, I admit that there are struggles in my life that feel impossible to overcome. Thank You for reminding me that nothing is impossible with You. Strengthen my faith as I take each step forward, knowing that You are with me. Amen.

" In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.’”

(Genesis 1:1)

Genesis 1:1 is more than the opening verse of the Bible—it’s the foundation of all existence. It reminds us that God is the Creator of everything, including the process of recovery. Just as He brought order out of chaos in the beginning, God can bring renewal and restoration to the chaos of our lives.

Healing begins when we acknowledge that we are not the architects of our own lives. Like the formless and empty earth in Genesis 1, our lives before recovery may feel void, dark, and chaotic. Addiction, broken relationships, and despair often leave us feeling hopeless. But God specializes in creating beauty out of brokenness.

The same creative power that formed the universe is at work in you. When you surrender to Jesus Christ, He begins a new creation within your heart. He speaks light into your darkness and forms a path of healing where none seemed possible. Through His Word, God provides the tools to rebuild your life on a solid foundation.

How has God begun to create order out of the chaos in your life? What areas still feel formless and void, and how can you invite Him to work in those spaces?

Creator God, thank You for Your power to make something new out of the emptiness and chaos in my life. Help me to trust Your process as I seek after you, knowing that You are forming something beautiful within me. Amen.
