"The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my savior, My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold."
(Psalm 18:2)

All of us, at one time or another, have been impacted by the shifting sands of life with all its unpredictability. It may seem overwhelming, and at times, out of control. When storms come, we often look for something solid to hold onto. But too often, we place our trust in things that cannot truly sustain us—our own strength, relationships, success, or temporary comforts.
David, the writer of this psalm, knew what it was like to be in danger. He faced battles, betrayals, and seasons of uncertainty. Yet, instead of relying on his own abilities, he turned to God as his rock, his fortress, and his refuge.
God is unshakable. He is not just a temporary shelter; He is a stronghold that cannot be broken. When we feel weak, He is our strength. When we feel vulnerable, He is our shield. When we feel lost, He is our fortress—providing protection, stability, and peace.
No matter what you are facing today, you don’t have to fight this alone. You have a refuge in God—a place of safety that cannot be taken away. Run to Him! Trust in Him. Let Him be your rock, your stronghold, and your salvation.
When difficulties come, do you turn to God as your refuge, or do you seek security in temporary things? How can you lean on Him more today?
Lord Jesus, You are my rock and my refuge. When life feels overwhelming, help me to run to You instead of trying to handle things on my own. Thank You for being my fortress, my shield, and my stronghold. I trust in Your strength to carry me through every challenge. In Your name I pray. Amen.
