"The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my savior, My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold."

(Psalm 18:2)

ree

All of us, at one time or another, have been impacted by the shifting sands of life with all its unpredictability. It may seem overwhelming, and at times, out of control. When storms come, we often look for something solid to hold onto. But too often, we place our trust in things that cannot truly sustain us—our own strength, relationships, success, or temporary comforts.

David, the writer of this psalm, knew what it was like to be in danger. He faced battles, betrayals, and seasons of uncertainty. Yet, instead of relying on his own abilities, he turned to God as his rock, his fortress, and his refuge.

God is unshakable. He is not just a temporary shelter; He is a stronghold that cannot be broken. When we feel weak, He is our strength. When we feel vulnerable, He is our shield. When we feel lost, He is our fortress—providing protection, stability, and peace.

No matter what you are facing today, you don’t have to fight this alone. You have a refuge in God—a place of safety that cannot be taken away. Run to Him! Trust in Him. Let Him be your rock, your stronghold, and your salvation.

When difficulties come, do you turn to God as your refuge, or do you seek security in temporary things? How can you lean on Him more today?

Lord Jesus, You are my rock and my refuge. When life feels overwhelming, help me to run to You instead of trying to handle things on my own. Thank You for being my fortress, my shield, and my stronghold. I trust in Your strength to carry me through every challenge. In Your name I pray. Amen.

"Be strong and courageous, for you shall give this people possession of the land which I swore to their fathers to give them."

(Joshua 1:6)

ree

Are you allowing fear to hold you back, or are you stepping forward in faith?

For most of us, change is hard. Stepping into the unknown can feel overwhelming, especially when we are leaving behind old patterns, habits, or ways of thinking. Joshua knew this well. After Moses died, the weight of leadership fell on him, and the task before him must have seemed extremely overwhelming. But God didn’t give Joshua a battle plan or an easy road—He gave him a command: Be strong and courageous.

Courage is not the absence of fear—it is choosing to move forward despite our fear. Joshua had to trust that God would be with him every step of the way. The same is true for us. Whether we are overcoming past struggles, stepping into a new season of life, or simply trying to stay on the right path, we need God’s strength to keep going.

The enemy uses fear to keep us stuck—to make us believe we aren’t capable, strong enough, or worthy of new beginnings. But God has called you forward. He has plans for you that are greater than what you have left behind. Remember, your strength does not come from within—it comes from Him.

Wherever you are today, don’t let fear stop you. God is with you, just as He was with Joshua. Be strong. Be courageous. Move forward in faith. Always trusting in Him.

Is fear keeping you from stepping into the life God has for you? What is one step of faith you can take today, trusting in His strength?

Heavenly Father, I know that You are calling me to walk in courage, but sometimes fear holds me back. Help me to trust in Your promises and to move forward even when I feel uncertain. Give me strength to keep going, knowing that You are with me every step of the way. Amen.

"My son, give me your heart, and let your eyes delight in my ways."

(Proverbs 23:26)

ree

Every day, each of us needs to decide where to place our trust, what to focus on, and what path to follow. Today’s verse is a simple but powerful invitation—God is asking for our hearts. Not just part of us, but all of us.

Surrendering isn’t easy. It’s tempting to hold on to control, to rely on our own understanding, or to seek fulfillment in things that will never fully satisfy us. But God doesn’t ask for our hearts to take something from us—He asks because He knows that true peace, joy, and purpose are only found in Him.

Many of us have spent years chasing things that left us empty. We’ve tried to create our own happiness, only to realize that nothing fills the void like a life surrendered to Christ. When we give God our hearts, He doesn’t condemn us—He restores us. He leads us away from the things that harm us and into a life of freedom and peace.

This verse also reminds us to keep our eyes on His ways. It’s easy to be distracted, to look for quick fixes, or to follow paths that seem easier. But when we focus on His truth, His promises, and His love, we find a life that is steady, secure, and full of purpose.

God is not asking for perfection—He’s asking for trust. He wants your heart, just as it is.

Is there an area of your life you haven’t fully surrendered to God? What is holding you back from trusting Him completely?

Jesus, I give You my heart. I surrender my fears, my struggles, and my need for control. Help me to trust Your ways, even when I don’t understand. Keep my eyes fixed on You, and guide me in the path of life. Thank You for loving me and leading me into true freedom. In Your name I pray. Amen.
