"He predestined us to adoption as sons and daughters through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, with which He favored us in the Beloved."
(Ephesians 1:5-6)

Have you ever wondered if you truly belong? If you’ve been accepted, not for what you do, but for who you are? Today’s passage of Scripture declares a truth that shatters doubt and silence shame: You are chosen by God and adopted into His family through Jesus Christ.
This isn’t a reluctant acceptance. It was God’s will and delight to draw you close to Him. He didn't wait until you were "good enough." In fact, He loved you in your brokenness and sin and, through Christ, He made a way for you to become His own. He chose to adopt you, not out of obligation, but out of deep, personal love.
This is a gift of grace, a beautiful favor extended to us in the Beloved, Jesus Christ. In Him, we are not just forgiven; we are welcomed, cherished, and given a new identity. No longer orphans, outcasts, or slaves to addiction or shame, we are sons and daughters of the King.
For those of us walking the road of recovery, this is life changing. The world may label us by our past, but God calls us His children. You are who you once were were; you are who He declares you to be. And what does He say you are? He says you are loved, favored, and accepted.
How does knowing you’ve been adopted by God through Christ affect the way you view yourself? What would it look like to live from that place of favor today?
Father, thank You for choosing and adopting me through Jesus. I’m overwhelmed by Your grace. Please help me to walk in the confidence of my identity that is in You. May I live to the praise of Your glorious grace each day. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
