Greater Is He

"You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world." 

(1 John 4:4) 

How many times have we faced struggles, temptations, and discouragement that try to convince us we are weak or powerless? Far too many! Today’s verse reminds us of an unshakable truth—God is greater than anything we will ever face.

The world can be overwhelming. There are circumstances that seek to pull us away from God, fill us with fear, and even make us doubt our worth. But John reassures us that because we belong to God, we have already overcome. Not by our own strength, but by the power of the One who lives in us. 

If you ever feel like you don’t have the strength to keep going, remember this: the Holy Spirit is alive in you. His power is greater than addiction, it is greater than fear and anxiety, or anything else trying to hold you back. You are not alone. You are not defeated. You are victorious in Christ as you seek Him in all of His glory. If God is for us who can be against us! (Rom 8:31) 

Are you living in the confidence that God is greater than your struggles? How can you remind yourself daily that His power lives in you? 

Lord my God, thank You for reminding me that You are greater than anything I face. When fear, doubt, or struggles try to overwhelm me, help me to stand firm in Your truth. Fill me with Your strength and remind me that I am not fighting alone. I place my trust in You this day. In the name of Christ my Lord I pray. Amen
