Living With Intention

January 30

" For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously, and in a godly manner in the present age.”

 (Titus 2:11-12)

In our journey in life, learning to say "no" to unhealthy patterns and desires is essential. Today’s scripture reminds us that God’s grace doesn’t just save us—it transforms us. It teaches and empowers us to turn away from ungodliness and the pull of worldly temptations, enabling us to live a life that reflects His character.

Living sensibly and righteously requires intentionality. It means evaluating our choices, setting boundaries, and making decisions that align with God’s will. This isn’t something we do in our own strength. Through His Spirit, God equips us to live with self-control, to pursue righteousness, and to shine as examples of godliness in a world that often pulls us in the opposite direction.

Every day, we are presented with choices. Each one is an opportunity to deny what is harmful and embrace what leads to life. By leaning on God’s grace, we can grow in self-control and reflect His goodness in all we do.

What worldly desires or habits do you need to deny to live more sensibly and righteously? How can you rely on God’s grace to guide and strengthen you in these decisions?

Lord, thank You for Your grace that not only saves but also transforms me. Help me to make wise, self-controlled choices as I walk through today, relying on Your strength to guide me. Thank You for calling me to a life of righteousness and godliness in this present age. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
