"Rest in the LORD and wait patiently for Him."
(Psalm 37:7a)

Waiting can be hard at times. When we’re seeking change, healing, or answers, it’s natural to want things to happen now. We look for quick solutions, push for immediate results, or grow restless when things don’t unfold the way we expect. But today’s Psalm reminds us of a different approach: resting in the Lord and waiting patiently for Him.
To “rest” in the Lord is not about doing nothing; it’s about trusting Him completely. It means laying down our need for control and believing that God is working, even when we don’t see it yet. Patience doesn’t come easily, especially when life feels uncertain. But God’s timing is perfect, and His plans are always better than our own.
If you’re feeling anxious or discouraged, pause and take a breath. Let go of the need to force solutions. Surrender your worries to God, knowing that He sees the full picture and is guiding you in His perfect time.
Are there areas in your life where you’re struggling to wait on God? How can you practice resting in Him today?
Lord Jesus, I confess that waiting is hard for me. I often want quick answers and immediate change. Help me to trust in Your timing and to rest in the knowledge that You are in control. Teach me to be patient, to surrender my worries, and to find peace in Your presence. In your precious name I pray, Amen.
