"And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power..."

(Hebrews 1:3)

Today's verse draws back the curtain on the greatness of Christ and reveals who He truly is; not just a teacher, not just a prophet, but the very radiance of God's glory. He doesn’t merely reflect God’s glory; He is the light and essence of that glory.

If we want to know what God is like, we look to Jesus. His compassion, His justice, His wisdom, and His love and how it perfectly displays the character of God. There is no difference between the heart of the Father and the heart of the Son.

But it doesn’t stop there. Jesus is powerful. He upholds all things by the power of His word. Everything in the universe; every star, every breath, every moment is sustained by Him. In the chaos of life, this truth brings incredible peace: Christ holds it all together, including us.

If we want to know what God is like, we look to Jesus.

If Jesus is holding all things together, He can hold you together, too. No sin is too great, no heart too broken, no past too shameful to keep Him from you. He is the radiance of God’s glory, and He came, in love, to draw you near to Himself.

Lord Jesus, You are the radiance of the Father’s glory and the One who holds all things. Thank You for purifying me from sin and giving me peace with God. Help me to trust You fully and rest in the power of who You are. In Your name, Amen.
